The Beauty of Cooperstown

I wanted to share a little story about a gift of kindness I received a few months ago…..
I met Thomas Trela in Cooperstown back in 2018 at my tent. It was my first trip and we connected right away, both being White Sox fans. Tom ordered a few pieces and we had connected through Facebook.
We’ve kept in touch, and this past Spring, Tom purchased one of my Frank Thomas autographed pieces. He chose to pick it up in person and check out the workshop…BUT, Tom is from Pennsylvania. Tom would be visiting his good friend and they came by for a nice visit and we told some great baseball stories.
One story, which really had my attention was about the time Tom and his son walked up to the door of Negro League center fielder and National Baseball Hall of Famer James “Cool Papa” Bell. It was quite the story, with Tom mentioning “Cool Papa” had signed many baseballs for him. I had mentioned to Tom he was on my list to collect one.
Fast forward a few weeks later, and lo and behold, this beautiful James “Cool Papa” Bell autographed baseball shows up at Barnwood Sports, LLC.
I cannot thank you enough Tom, and I look forward to sharing more stories. This story right here is something that will be cherished the rest of my life. Oh, and Tom….when you least expect it, you may receive a little something at your doorstep
